Pricing

I accept commissions for portraits and other subjects from photos*. If you are interested in having me draw something, I require a clear, high resolution photo. Please contact me with a description of your vision, and if possible, attach one or more photos for me to work out a composition and settle on a commission estimate. Once a final price has been determined, I require a 50% deposit to begin working. Most commissions take me three to ten days to complete depending on the size and complexity of the portrait, and my workload.  I send in-progress photos at several stages, and once complete you will receive a final photo to ensure your satisfaction. Upon completion and receipt of the remaining payment I will securely ship your picture. The prices below are what I generally charge for portraits of people or pets completed in dry media (graphite, charcoal, or conte). Exceedingly complex backgrounds, or other factors such as montaging several pictures together may incur a slightly higher fee. Please contact me for prices of subjects other than people or pets, different sizes, or commissions in other media. All sizes represented is what will fit in the respective mat opening. There will be a 1/2 to 1 inch border to allow for ease in framing. All prices include shipping and insurance in the United States.

All my work is completed on 100% cotton fiber acid free archival papers that will not fade or yellow. However, it is generally a good idea not to hang any kind of artwork where it will be hit with direct sunlight. I work with several kinds of papers and I choose the best match for the feel of the artwork.

I also offer framing and matting services upon request.

* For intellectual property reasons I only draw and paint from photos that the client has rights to. Any work that I accept which is based upon professional photography must be accompanied by a release from the photographer.
